New Orleans is a city of rich and diverse culture. Here you can find American, French, German, and beyond. We are definitely a big Gumbo Pot, which gives us a unique opportunity to play with different fashions. With that in mind, it’s safe to say there is a big melting pop of eclectic style residing here. You can walk in different areas of town and find more than 5 different styles of fashion residing on the citizens of New Orleans. A lot of the Flavor of this city can be designed through visits to local New Orleans Owned boutiques. A hub for some great boutiques is Magazine Street.

Take a stroll down Magazine alone you can find different boutiques to cater to a variety of styles from glam to vintage. Some of the best stores in my opinion are Frock Candy, Funky Monkey, Buffalo Exchange, and American Apparel. Each makes up a different style need.

Frock Candy (3112 Magazine St) is the type of establishment you need to go to when you want to get glammed up. To find a cool shirt or dress that you won’t see many on the street with at reasonable prices, Frock Candy is what you need. Not only is it a great shopping experience, but truly a great coordinated store, which is a plus for me, and most important its color coordinated!

Next Up is Funky Monkey (3127 Magazine St), I absolutely love Funky Monkey, because it’s so cool and funky like its name. There you can find costumes, vintage, and –previously owned items. My favorite is their cool supply of t-shirts with items unique to New Orleans. Funky Monkey is always the best choice to get t-shirts made for very cheap. Try Funky Monkey, when trying to create a new style.

Buffalo Exchange (3312 Magazine St.; buffaloexchange.com) is the store you can find a variety of new and previously owned items for men and women ranging from hats, purses, shirts, jeans, dresses, shoes, and accessories. This is a great store to exchange your clothes and get some new pieces for your wardrobe.

Lastly, American Apparel (3310 Magazine St; americanapparel.net) AA is a great store to find some pivotal pieces for your wardrobe, such as their very very cool hot pants!

When looking for some cool fashion venture sometimes out of the mall, and give boutique shopping a shot.
